東京都内には、江戸時代から令和に至る年代に奉納された1,300対を超える数の狛犬が現存していますが、他地域に比べ様々なデザインの狛犬が点在しているのが特色となっています。

その特色をよりご理解いただくため、他地域の狛犬もあわせて掲載しています。

狛犬散策の補助資料として、またお気に入りの狛犬を発見するツールとして、この狛犬データベース「東京狛犬俱楽部」をご活用いただければ幸いです。

This website is a database of Komainu (lion-dog guardians) existing within Tokyo.

There are over 1,300 pairs of Komainu existing in Tokyo, dedicated from the Edo period to the Reiwa era, with the characteristic that various designs of Komainu are scattered compared to other regions.

To better understand this characteristic, Komainu from other regions are also published.

As a supplementary material for exploring Komainu and as a tool to discover your favorite Komainu, we would be grateful if you could utilize this Komainu database, "Tokyo Komainu Club".
